Listen to X threads and Articles

Paste a link to any post in a thread and tta1 reads the author's whole thread aloud, in order, without the replies. X Articles are read in full, so long reads on X become something you can listen to on a walk.

Listen to PDFs, Word documents and screenshots

Not everything worth reading has a link. Upload it and tta1 reads it aloud, leaving out the parts that aren't meant to be read. Uploads are included with Plus and Pro.

  • PDF to speech

Reports, papers and ebooks, without page numbers, headers or footers. Scanned PDFs work too.

  • Screenshot to speech

Up to 20 screenshots or photos, read in the order you set. App buttons and status bars are skipped.

  • Word and text files

Word documents (.docx), plain text and Markdown, read as clean paragraphs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I listen to an article instead of reading it?

Copy the article's link, paste it into tta1 and press Listen. tta1 fetches the page, keeps only the article body and reads it aloud. Audio starts within a few seconds, even for long reads.

Can tta1 read an article in a different language?

Yes. Choose the language you want to hear under "Read in". If the article is written in another language, tta1 translates it first, then reads it aloud. 25 languages are supported, including English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.

Which websites work?

Most public news sites, blogs, newsletters and documentation pages, plus public posts, threads and Articles on X. Menus, ads, cookie banners and comments are left out, so you only hear the story. Pages behind a login or paywall can't be fetched, but you can paste their text or upload screenshots instead.

Can tta1 read news articles aloud?

Yes. Paste the link to a story from most public news sites and tta1 reads the article itself, leaving out ads, menus, related stories and comments. If the story is in another language, tta1 translates it first. Stories behind a paywall can't be fetched, but you can paste their text instead.

Can tta1 read X (Twitter) threads aloud?

Yes. Paste a link to any post in a thread and tta1 reads the author's whole thread in order, from the first post to the last, without anyone else's replies. X Articles (long reads) are read in full with their headings, and long posts aren't cut off. Links from x.com and twitter.com both work, as long as the post is public.

Can tta1 read a PDF aloud?

Yes. Upload a PDF (up to 20 MB) under File and tta1 reads it to you. Page numbers, running headers and footers are left out, and words split across lines are joined back together, so it sounds like the document, not the layout. Scanned PDFs work too: tta1 reads the text on each page. Word documents (.docx), plain text and Markdown files are supported as well. Uploads are included with Plus and Pro.

Can tta1 read text from screenshots or photos?

Yes. Add up to 20 screenshots under Screenshots (choose, drop or paste them), put them in reading order and press Listen. tta1 reads the text in each image, joins text that continues from one screenshot to the next and skips app buttons and status bars. It's handy for chats, paywalled snippets and photos of printed pages. Uploads are included with Plus and Pro.

Can I change the reading speed or voice?

Pick from 30 natural voices, each with a preview. Speed goes from 0.5× to 2.5× without changing pitch, and tta1 remembers your voice, language and speed for next time.

Is tta1 free?

Yes. Free accounts get 1,000 words every month (about 7 minutes of audio). Plus gives you 25,000 words a month for $6, and Pro 50,000 for $12. Paid plans can also listen to PDFs and screenshots and download readings as MP3s. You're only charged for what's read aloud, and replays are free.
